Eco Clubs

The Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India has announced the scheme to raise a National Green Army through the Mechanism of establishing Eco-clubs in about 100 schools in each districts, by covering 50,000 schools in the country.

The main objective of the scheme is to spread environmental awareness and carry out action based programme for protection and improvement of environment.

The GOI sanction has been obtained for 2700 eco clubs in the State.As per the Government of India guidelines the programme is being implemented in all the 27 revenue districts and 5 education districts. Each district would have around 84 eco clubs, one each in identified government/aided/navodaya/residential/ICSE/ CBSE high schools. Around 2620 eco clubs have been already established.
